            Bug ID: 289174
Summary: The need to recognize NetBSD's downstream X.org
                    customization and Xenocara
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: pyrus@bsdmail.com

NetBSD has its own customization of X.org from freedesktop. It uses its own BSD
make system, instead of GNU tools for it. This is a downstream variant of
X.org, where improvements aren't often pushed upstream.

Many are already aware of OpenBSD's Xenocara, which isn't considered a fork,
but it's a customization of X.org where improvements are sent upstream.

Hyperbola Linux actually uses Xenocara for its implementation of X.org.

For FreeBSD to recognize Xenocara and NetBSD's downstream customization of
X.org. It seems like duplicate work to have two downstream BSD implementations
of X.org. Also, to borrow from NetBSD's BSD build system.
