As I look at this. The premise is that our ports are the culprit.
But given some 50+ ports fail as a result of multimedia/ffmpeg-8.0.
I'd be inclined to argue that ffmpeg-8.0 is the culprit. In all
fairness, I'll need to look at the ffmpeg changelog. But if ffmpeg
breaks 50 or more ports. It had better bring revolutionary things
to the table to warrant changing our ports to support it.
