bsd.sites.mk does have git-clone target if that could support `git reset --hard
...`.

I guess that would just be a port level do-fetch rewrite to reset. But it would
be nice to have it builtin.   However, to clone a full repo might not be the
best idea.

Upstream isn't exactly in favor of people automating downloads to begin with
let alone packagin so I'm not sure how much more poking the bear I want to deal
with.
