First, I have been using the package on FreeBSD since version 3.3 or so. 

When I saw the port deleted, I figured it was due to "noone showed any interest
to save it". 

However, I have interest in saving it. Should upstream disagree, I'll just use
this PR to keep whatever changes I have to make to get the port in working
order on FreeBSD.
