Improved port submission

Alright, this one is the one I'm submitting to be official. I hope to make this
a dependency of Ren'py and keep it updated separately. I hope to make a python
module of this too so that I can remove it completely from the main source's
build. There's a fun bug related to it where this library upstream can break
the FreeBSD build due to having CLRF (Windows style) newlines; when converting
to Unix style ones, it can cause a build failure while the core developer has
FreeBSD support in the newer versions (like what I have here).
