I just tried to compile the Forgejo port and it works with the same patch.
Afterwards I can confirm that gogit was used:

```
$ forgejo --version
Forgejo version 1.21.7-0 built with GNU Make 4.4.1, go1.21.8 : bindata, gogit,
pam, sqlite, sqlite_unlock_notify
```
