            Bug ID: 270483
           Summary: x11/nvidia-driver: linker_load_file:
                    /boot/modules/nvidia-modeset.ko - unsupported file
                    type
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New

          Assignee: danfe@FreeBSD.org
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(danfe@FreeBSD.org)

Host CURRENT (FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT #0 main-n261807-27c8d4851c15: Mon Mar 27
19:13:05 CEST 2023 amd64)

Driver version: 525.89.02

Options of x11/nvidia-driver:

 # make showconfig
===> The following configuration options are available for
nvidia-driver-525.89.02_1:
     ACPI_PM=on: ACPI Power Management support
     DOCS=on: Build and/or install documentation
     LINUX=on: Linux compatibility support
     WBINVD=off: Flush CPU caches directly with WBINVD
===> Use 'make config' to modify these settings

In case of LINUX=on, on most recent kernel (see above) loading the kernel
module "nvidia-modeset" fails with the messages on console seen below:

[...]
