This is an old habit in some places: it means that the script must be sourced,
not run, and if someone wants to run it, it would exit with a bad return code.

Note: this is not for my own scripts, but in a new port that I am preparing. Of
course, I could patch it, but why patch a legit thing, if upstream is doing it
this way?
