There's an even easier repo process - build the xscreensaver port then:

1. cd /usr/ports/x11/xscreensaver/work/xscreensaver-6.04
2. ./driver/xscreensaver-auth --dpy :0.0

Enter your password, then press Enter.

If you entered your password incorrectly, you get an "Authentication failed!"
message.

If you entered your password correctly, you get a segfault.
