If there is a need we can have a port for bazel 4.2. To try if that solves your
problem, you can check out that version from the port's history; it should
still build cleanly of current versions of FreeBSD. If that solves your porting
problem, I see no reason why not to have a separate port for every major
version of bazel still supported upstream.
