This command failed:
$ git commit sdr++ Makefile 
grep: repetition-operator operand invalid
[pre-commit] ERROR: Missing 'SUBDIR += sdr++' in comms/Makefile

I had to use --no-verify to work around the issue.
This isn't urgent since there is a workaround, but it would be nice if this
would be fixed.
