/usr/local/share/terminfo.db previously backed up to
/usr/local/share/terminfo.db.default

The script /usr/ports/Keywords/terminfo.ucl (run in this case by x11/kitty
install) nuked my terminfo when run.

It blindly copies terminfo.db.default to terminfo.db before running tic on new
files.
