https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=260565 Bug ID: 260565 Summary: x11-drivers/xorg-drivers: expand default selection by EVDEV Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: x11@FreeBSD.org Reporter: bugzilla.freebsd@omnilan.de Flags: maintainer-feedback?(x11@FreeBSD.org) Assignee: x11@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 230265 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=230265&action=edit Select EVDEV driver by default. FreeBSD 12.1 and up have evdev[4] in GENERIC (and MINIMAL). After compiling usual xorg stuff, I was astonished that neither mouse nor keyboard worked as they used to do for a long time: startx(1) was sufficient to get a minimalistic but working twm(1) session. There are multiple ways to alter xorg config to use mouse and keyboard, but since auto-detection was the supposed and working way to get started, I'd like to propose including xf86-input-evdev by default in x11-drivers/xorg-drivers, to make it working again with recent FreeBSD versions. -harry -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
