Re: Old /usr/bin/* files (and more) still around on modern main, long updated via pkgbase: looks like having FreeBSD-src installed and doing make check-old and the like are appropriate?

If I had managed to predict the end results back in 2026-Jan, I would
have instead started with the sequence:

) First reverted my source-based configuration to be one based on just
defaults.

) Built, installed, and delete-old'd based on that adjustment

) Then have done the pkgbase conversion.

I wanted the default boot context to be official pkgbase materials that
do not involve any tailoring of such by me. If I discover an issue and
can reproduce it in that context, that is how I report the issue
--avoiding any questions about any personal changes being part of the
problem. The default boot system upgrades from official pkgbase
distribution to official pkgbase distribution, no building by me.


After the above I would have then added my extra, tailored kernels and
my chroot directory tree(s) with tailored world(s) for use for my
related specific activities.
