maybe? ports is not updated with 2.8.1. I only see the changelog entry as "fix:
static build with -pie in LDFLAGS on macOS", without a link to the commit. I
guess it's commmit a8f08f9? It's not macOS related? That commit doesn't look
very macOS related, so, I guess it's what it is.

FreeBSD base system is supposed to be compiled with PIE, though?
(https://reviews.freebsd.org/D28328), why doesn't the pkg-static build work as
is?
