Ahh.
Is/was your 14.3 already via pkgbase before the attempt
to get to a 15.* ? Or are you trying to update from
something that is not yet converted to pkgbase?
I use pkgbase but follow normal FreeBSD procedure of updating
the kernel(s) first, rebooting to use a new kernel before
trying any more general update of the world. This makes
sure that new/updated kernel services are available for
use first.
But my recent example was going from main 15 to main 16 .
I've never testing upgrading a 14.* to a 15.* .
But I'll note that the 15.0-ALPHA* are not available
from:
url: "pkg+http://pkg.FreeBSD.org/${ABI}/base_latest",
15.0-ALPHA* are not being distributed that way. Instead
that url is still at the old 2025-Sep-04 or so build of main
15 ( so: the PRERELEASE before ALPHA* ).
So far as I know, 15.0-ALPHA2 is only available via use of
the likes of disk1.iso and memstick.img :
https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/snapshots/ISO-IMAGES/15.0/FreeBSD-15.0-ALPHA2-amd64-20250914-da62a299de31-280122-disc1.iso.xz
and:
https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/snapshots/ISO-IMAGES/15.0/FreeBSD-15.0-ALPHA2-amd64-20250914-da62a299de31-280122-memstick.img.xz
The *mini-memstick.img* and *boot1.iso* are only set up to
use the url that does not give access to any ALPHA* ,
just to PRERELEASE as far as I can tell.
[ALPHA1 was accidentally put under:
https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releases/ISO-IMAGES/15.0/
instead. But it is also not available from elsewhere,
as far as I know.
