I do not know if this would be desired vs. not.

Personally, I would rarely clean the cache. 
 
I think, we're partly experimenting with what's possible; not necessarily what's recommended (or desirable). 
 
I might demonstrate the effect of -fqy but that's certainly not a recommendation; and so on.
