Obviously the typo was not part of the original PR.

Do you mean that, as an immediate follow up about just a one-letter-change
(note: changing semantics), I should not have re-opened the PR, and instead
have opened completely new PR?

I had considered that, but decided against it, exactly because of that.

However, if that's the standing recommendation/preference, then I'll open a new
PR in future for similar situations.
