But wouldn't have $ cd /usr/ports/lang/perl5.36 $ make deinstall followed by $ cd /usr/ports/lang/perl5.40 $ make clean $ make install clean distclean got it for you? No. It's not a magic bullet. The transition is indeed unpleasant. But it worked for me 5.38 => 5.40.
