Hi Nick,

You are right, the sensor is definitely there and working. I ran the command on
the system and it reports a perfectly sane operating temperature:

# sysctl dev.aq.0.temperature
dev.aq.0.temperature: 64.6C

It seems the driver can read the temperature just fine, but the Lenovo OEM
firmware (0x07b1) likely locks the configuration registers for the thermal
shutdown feature. Lenovo probably forces the hardware to manage its own thermal
protection autonomously, preventing the OS from arming it.

Let me know if you ever need any other data dumps from this specific OEM card!
