--- Comment #17 from Tomasz "CeDeROM" CEDRO <tomek@cedro.info> ---
Hmm I just switched to Intel Ultra8 285K with ASUS TUF Z890 PRO WIFI, there is
ALC1220 sound codec, I have Nvidia GTX1060 GPU. I am experiencing the sound
clicks too, both on internal hda but also usb sound card o_O. I am using
Xorg+Enlightenment that uses PulseAudio.

The more bits I give to the sound i.e. 24 or 32-bit and higher bitrate the
clicks are more present and unbearable. The safest configuration seems to be
16-bit 44.1kHz sound and vchanmode=adaptive.

But I have just switched to BIOS, changes PCI-E 16x configutation to be 8x/8x
with NVME controller and problem seems gone for now - using 24-bit sound with
96kHz rate vchanmode=fixed and no clicks.

I noticed however a slowdown of visual smoothness, then got to nvidia-settings
changed OpenGL Settings / Image Settings from Quality to High Performance and
things got smoother. Maybe there is something wrong with nvidia / gpu driver
causing these issues?
