The error I found in the logs:

I'm not using this port, so I'm fine if we mark it as broken and deprecate 
it. Especially since this port depends on some older Java ports that need 
openjdk8. And I would like to minimize the usage of openjdk8 in the ports 
tree. I am also very curious if anybody is actually using this port.
But maybe somebody recognizes the error and has a quick fix.

If nobody stands up in a few days I'm going to deprecate this port (which 
still gives somebody the time to stand up and fix it).
