I understand your frustration.

But while this is true, there are ways to use git that do not
actually require this level of effort.

I am _certainly_ not a git expert and so I struggle with it, so
I am not the right person to give you advice, but IIUC you are
having more difficulty than most of the other contributors have.
OTH, there is no bad intent here.  Please take these into account.
