My sense i= s, with FreeBSD it matters a lot given the investment of the people I know w= ho have contributed to it over the years, I=E2=80=99m sure they would like t= o believe this still matters and it=E2=80=99s too important to allow contrib= utions that can=E2=80=99t be definitively attributed to a real person.=20 I get with ports it=E2=80=99s a bit different, and that the Linux kernel is n= ot void. As a matter of fact I have a mirror of the ports distfiles (at leas= t about 400gb of them) and it=E2=80=99s scary to think about but it=E2=80=99= s at least a little less scary to me than the way Void handles package manag= ement because I feel like somebody is willing to endorse at least the core p= art of FreeBSD.=20 Idk I guess I'm just starting to realize how much people don=E2=80=99t learn= from some mistakes. A couple of years ago when sshd got backdoored, it was i= ncredible to think that the attacker actually used coercive tactics, and I=E2= =80=99m sure a lot of people were shaken by it but it just seems apparent to= me that there are much simpler opportunities for attacks against various Li= nux distributions. =CE=A3=CF=84=CE=AC=CE=BB=CE=B8=CE=B7=CE=BA=CE=B5 =CE=B1=CF=80=CF=8C =CF=84=CE= =BF iPhone =CE=BC=CE=BF=CF=85=
