You're right Eric,

Hi Toghrul, you will find the process here:
https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/porters-handbook/upgrading/

1. See if something already exists in the database (some patches take a long 
time before applied, I fixed some myself that was already solved)
2. You have to open a bug for each Port you fix, including a patch according to 
the rule described.
