I know it's too soon to call a timeout, but could someone on the Gnome team
look at getting this committed? the version bump was to fix a serious issue
that have been present in mate-panel for a while, but, after the last
portrevision bump, it started causing wcnk-applet to block the startup of other
programs. It can leave the system pretty pretty useless. If a mate/gnome
program starts before the wnck-applet starts, it is fine, but after than, the
program will not start. It just sits there using no CPU time.

Could someone please commit this soon? I lost several hours looking at this and
reinstalling ports trying to get a usable system until I saw Martin's report
which led to a quick resolution. I don't like seeing other waste time after a
set of updated the size f those triggered by the icu update.
