Forgot to mention.
I got error message below when running `mate-panel --replace` on mate-terminal,
invoked from caja. mate-panel.core I used to get info on my previous post was
generated with this action. (The one with start-up time was overwritten by
this.)

Assertion failed: (CAIRO_REFERENCE_COUNT_HAS_REFERENCE (&surface->ref_count)),
function cairo_surface_reference, file cairo-surface.c, line 930.
zsh: abort      mate-panel --replace
