I'm afraid that ports are built only with default options. It now takes
multiple days to build them all and, unless there is a significant number
of users that need a non-default, such as X11 and non-X11 versions. There
is no reasonable way to build a large number of different options.

If you really must have aspell, you really need to either build claws-mail
from sources or, better, build it with poudriere. The former is fairly
easy, but more fragile and inconsistencies can cause problems. Trying to
make it work is easy. You will need a copy of the ports tree which can be
cloned from the git repo.

I would suggest that you first install ports-mgmt/portmaster (just a shell
script with no dependencies) and "portmaster mail/claws-mail". It will list
all required packages. (Be sure to select "aspell" in the config phase.)
Enter 'n' to prevent them from all being built and then use pkg to install
all of the listed ports except claws-mail, itself. Then "portmaster
mail/claws-mail" will build and install claws-mail. It should work, but
updates to other ports could require rebuilding it again. It's certainly
not optimal, but should work. Try not to do this too often and conflicts in
dependencies can be really ugly to resolve.
