I personally do not experience a crackle/stutter any longer with OSS in
Firefox.  At least, I can no longer recreate it with 147.0.1.  The easiest way
for me was to move the mouse quickly back and forth over the video time
slider--whatever it is called--in a YouTube video.  I thought I encountered it
a month ago, but I could easily be mistaken else the newer ffmpeg fixed it.

This "fix" could be due to a newer Firefox (147.0.1), FreeBSD (14.3-STABLE),
ffmpeg (8.0.1) or a different sound source (HDA now vs USB previously).

In about:support:
Audio Backend:  oss

With all "Codec Support Information" only using Software Decoding.
