Please review section 13.9 of Porter's Handbook once more. I even posted a
quote for your convenience. I'd like to emphasize that wording is MUST, not
even should.

I wouldn't consider disable option as a simple solution because doing that
passes '--disable-optimize', which may negate user-set CLFAGS somewhere deep
inside Mozilla build system. Would you mind helping to verify if that's true?
