I did not imply that.
I meant a recent-ish change by markj that moved some VFS asserts from being
controlled by DEBUG_VFS_LOCKS to being controlled by INVARIANTS. 
ASSERT_VOP_IN_SEQC is one of them.
That's commit base 3bd8fab2415bf.

But you say that you use GENERIC-NODEBUG...
