I think that MooseFS's approach is the correct one.  Linux's behavior, if I
understand correctly, makes it very vulnerable to DOSes, especially accidental
ones.  I don't think that FreeBSD should strive to be bug-compatible with Linux
in that regard.  So unless there are any other compelling reasons for us to
change our behavior, I'm going to close this as "not a bug".
