I think that George's point was not about anything that gets printed, but what
happens depending on whether amdgpu gets loaded (and when) or not.

It's not unimaginable that an exotic bug in one module (or in the module
loading code or the code for resolving symbols) results in a memory corruption
and a crash elsewhere.

A very wild guess, but I'd check if there are any duplicate symbols between
amdgpu and zfs.ko... and even kernel itself.
