it's fine to show a supported workaround.  for example, the text could say
something like "There is no official pkgbase upgrade path from 14 to 15, the
supported workaround is to backup and reinstall" (or depkgbasify, or whatever).

what the text musn't say is that this is *required* to upgrade from 14 to 15,
because it's not.  we don't (and cannot) require our users to only follow
supported operational procedures.  it's the difference between "you can't do X"
and "we don't support doing X".
