Bug ID: 275159
Summary: man page for apropos(1) references nonexistent options
-l and -c from page for man(1)
Product: Documentation
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Many People
Priority: ---
Component: Manual Pages
Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org
Reporter: razetime@gapp.nthu.edu.tw
CC: doc@FreeBSD.org
OS: FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE releng/13.2-n254617-525ecfdad597 GENERIC
The man page listing for apropos(1), under the DESCRIPTION heading, after the
options are listed, contains the following line:
The options -chlw are also supported and are documented in man(1). The
options -fkl are mutually exclusive and override each other.
-c and -l were not documented in man(1). man(1) when run with -c and -l
recognizes them as invalid options. apropos(1) does not reject them and
requires man page changes to reflect this difference.
