            Bug ID: 273341
Summary: Porter's handbook: a meta port should describe itself
                    as such
           Product: Documentation
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
               URL: https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-doc/edit/main/docum
                    entation/content/en/books/porters-handbook/quick-porti
                    ng/_index.adoc
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Keywords: easy, needs-patch
          Severity: Affects Some People
          Priority: ---
         Component: Books & Articles
          Assignee: doc@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: grahamperrin@gmail.com

From experience, and from e.g.
<https://www.freshports.org/search.php?stype=shortdescription&method=match&query=meta&num=500&orderby=port&orderbyupdown=asc&search=Search&format=html&minimal=1&branch=head>,
I assume that it's good practice for a meta port to describe itself as such in:

- at least, the COMMENT line of its Makefile

- additionally, its description.

<https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/porters-handbook/book/> there's no hint
along these lines.
