It was a quick opener to get the ball rolling.=20 (In reply to PauAmma from comment #1) Removal of 'Newsgroups' from the sidebar:=20 * not intended to entirely remove NNTP/Usenet from the Community page * there's the link from the third paragraph, to the FreeBSD Handbook.=20 Neither of the two FreeBSD groups is disused (obsolete), it's just that NNT= P is relatively archaic. Where a community has a complementary method of communication that's primarily web-based (with a good enough UX), the web naturally gains traction. Much more discussion in FreeBSD Forums than in comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc, and so on.=20 (I'm not dismissing NNTP altogether. I was a very frequent user around thir= ty years ago. It's simply much less attractive nowadays.) ---- As sidebars are typically for rapid web navigation =E2=80=93 without scanni= ng any length of text, so there's value in the Community sidebar linking to the mo= re popular forms of interaction.=20 I no longer use Twitter, so I don't know which one of the three accounts is most popular (chatty), but I _guess_ that @freebsd is primary and should ha= ve a place in the sidebar. ---- Maybe something like this (alphabetical order for everything below 'Community'):=20 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Community --------- BSD Now Discord Events FreeBSD Forums IRC Mailing lists Reddit Twitter Regional groups YouTube =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D * BSD Now is broader than FreeBSD alone,=20 however there's the community aspect =E2=80=93 interviews etc. =E2=80=93 = I imagine=20 that it's better placed under Community, than under Support * FreeBSD Forums, two words, its proper name * for sidebar purposes, the phrase 'Regional groups' might be truer than=20 'User groups' =E2=80=93 imagine being a newcomer to FreeBSD, clicking the= =20 phrase for the first time (without paying attention to the main=20 body text). --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
