Hey,

I tried two expand a gpt partition , but I could not get it working with the
solution from the handbook.

https://people.freebsd.org/~rodrigc/doc/handbook/disks-growing.html

The last step

sharky@freebsd:~ $ sudo growfs /dev/ada0p4
It's strongly recommended to make a backup before growing the file system.
OK to grow filesystem on /dev/ada0p4 from 4.0GB to 47GB? [yes/no] Yes
growfs: /dev/ada0p4: Operation not permitted

What works is this command.

growfs /dev/gpt/rootfs

sharky@freebsd:~ $ sudo growfs /dev/gpt/rootfs
Device is mounted read-write; resizing will result in temporary write
suspension for /.
