I am closing this bug because maintainer madpilot@FreeBSD.org provided a
thorough review requesting an upstream PR, CLA signing, and mailing list
discussion before this preference-driven change could be considered. The
reporter did not follow up with any of the requested upstream engagement.
Moving .Xauthority to XDG_RUNTIME_DIR affects multiple components and needs
broader community consensus.
