Answer to self, which might help the documentation team:

echo 'linprocfs /proc linprocfs rw 0 0' >> /etc/fstab

instead of

# echo 'proc /proc procfs rw 0 0' >> /etc/fstab

Seems to help in getting KDE6 + plasma working. More tests pending, I
have ceased to suffer the 'sudden session exits'.
