FWIW, I while back I applied the patch to wxgtk32 and rebuilt it.  This
resolved my issues with kicad crashing when attempting to use EGL functions. 
Including this option in the port would make it easier for me and others to
rebuild the package when needed without affecting anyone else (that'd use the
default with includes EGL support).
