You dont have to. I did run it on a western digital black.

My first sentence, was missing a `thank you all`.  
With all your feedbacks those diff landed.

For the sn850x, you will not get any performance gain over the last time.  The difference is that the hardcoded values come from the hardware itself instead of being hardcoded.

The hardware that might start showing problems are those fake drives that don't implement the spec. 

I have a `80 TB NVME Somsang EVO` i bought (10euro) to test trash that did not survive the upgrade.
