After upgrading recent CURRENT from source (FreeBSD 16.0-CURRENT #2 main-n290751-4ca929100407: Sat Nov 7 13:46:50 CET 2026 amd64) incorporating commits commit 6d5c80aee3ae8b16a0b08b25852430fb076fed37 to commit 4ca929100407f62aba146aa04bb0c8c44d1fe292 I get this error on console without GUI: [...] nvidia_ucodes_ga10x_fw: could not load firmware image, error 2 nvidia_ucodes_ga10x_fw: could not load binary firmware /boot/firmware/nvidia_ucodes_ga10x_fw either NVRM: GPU 0000:01:00.0: RmInitAdapter failed! (0x61:0x56:2858) nvidia0: NVRM: rm_init_adapter() failed! nVidia driver: nvidia-driver-620.70.06 x11/nvidia-driver nvidia-kmod-620.70.06.1600031 x11/nvidia-kmod nvidia-xconfig-620.70.06 x11/nvidia-xconfig With each world/kernel build, those modules are build (from source), too Some new in the kernel landscape seems to trouble loading nVidia firmware.
