Hi all,
sometimes, reading documentation does help :-)
I followed the instructions at https://github.com/wulf7/iichid and added
this:
ig4_load="YES"
iicbus_load="YES"
to the already present
iichid_load="YES"
in /boot/loader.conf, and now touchpad works.
