And yeah, Tomoaki I think you're making the right choice there. It may well be
a FreeBSD-specific problem, but I'm not equipped to resolve it at all. Ninja
itself, and especially the ninja build specification files, are opaque and not
designed to be read by humans. A difference in how ninja and samurai handle an
especially complex build is way above my head and the developers of samurai may
well be the only people able to speak to why there's a build difference.

So, it's not that I feel it's not FreeBSD-specific, it's that even if it is, I
have a very limited ability to diagnose much further. I encourage you to report
it at the sourcehub link Baptiste provided.

The more addressable issue might be that Uses/ninja.mk has USES=ninja:samurai
to force samurai, but no way (AFAIK) to force using ninja.
