Yes, there was string similar to 'ff617793fd231ft1589dd8eb5808beef' (a few
characters changed). File was from 2016 (I have been upgrading this machine
over the years).

I don't have dbus-uuid on my machine. I have dbus-uuidgen. I re-created with
`sudo dbus-uuidgen --ensure`, symlinked to /etc, rebooted, cleared chromium
cache but downloads still fail.
