I investigated this issue and proposed a patch directly to the OpenBSM
repository here: https://github.com/openbsm/openbsm/pull/90
Since this code lives under contrib/ in FreeBSD, I intentionally submitted the
fix upstream first rather than proposing a FreeBSD-only change. Hopefully
FreeBSD can pick it up once it reaches the OpenBSM master branch.
