Bug ID: 300044
Summary: bsdinstall(8) non interactive mode broken
Product: Base System
Version: 15.1-RELEASE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: ---
Component: bin
Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org
Reporter: vermaden@interia.pl
Hi,
I try to install FreeBSD in non interactive scripted way like that:
FreeBSD 15.1 ISO # cat /tmp/test
export nonInteractive="YES"
export ZFSBOOT_DISKS="nda0"
export ZFSBOOT_VDEV_TYPE=stripe
export ZFSBOOT_SWAP_SIZE=1g
export ZFSBOOT_BOOT_TYPE=BIOS+UEFI
export ZFSBOOT_POOL_NAME=sys
export ZFSBOOT_POOL_CREATE_OPTIONS="-O compression=on -O atime=off"
export ZFSBOOT_PARTITION_SCHEME=GPT
export ZFSBOOT_SWAP_ENCRYPTION=1
export BSDINSTALL_CHROOT=/mnt
export BSDINSTALL_PKG_REPOS_DIR="/usr/freebsd-packages/repos"
export COMPONENTS="base lib32"
#!/bin/sh
sysrc ifconfig_DEFAULT=DHCP
sysrc sshd_enable=YES
FreeBSD 15.1 ISO # bsdinstall script /tmp/test
... and I get this error:
"No disk(s) present to configure"
But 'nda0' disk is there and working:
FreeBSD 15.1 ISO # geom disk list
Geom name: nda0
Providers:
1. Name: nda0
Mediasize: 21474836480 (20G)
Sectorsize: 512
Mode: r1w1e3
descr: bhyve-NVMe
lunid: 589cfc2012350001
ident: NVME-4-0
rotationrate: 0
fwsectors: 0
fwheads: 0
... and I am able to install FreeBSD perfectly fine on if in interactive way.
I suspect that 'f_device_find()' function /usr/share/bsdconfig/device.subr for
some reason does not add this 'nda0' disk to '$disks'.
Regards,
vermaden
