Bug ID: 299139
Summary: Restore display audio when playback starts after
monitor sleep
Product: Base System
Version: Unspecified
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: ---
Component: kern
Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org
Reporter: david@crap.solutions
A display audio codec can remain powered down after monitor sleep. New
playback then starts without sound. Waking the codec can also leave its
output amplifier muted.
Wake the codec before starting a new audio stream when it is not fully
powered. After waking it, restore the saved amplifier settings, preserving
the user's volume and mute choices.
