this sort of works for me, but not 100% of the time on an old Baytrails based
box.  Not sure whats going on. I suspect a buggy bios. I worked around it by
forcing the box to boot legacy instead of EFI by
mount /dev/ada0p2 /mnt
mv /mnt/EFI/BOOT /mnt/EFI/BOOT.off
umount /mnt

and this *seems* to work reliably for my J1900 box
